Oracle Romania gazduieste in august anul acesta carnavalul #tru care va veni in estul Europei pentru prima data. In ultimii ani, Romania s-a identificat ca o locatie in plina expansiune pentru domeniul de recrutare si plasare forta de munca in Europa, Orientul Mijlociu si Africa. Cu alte cuvinte, vorbim despre o comunitate ce creste pe zi ce trece. Considerand acesta un subiect de interes major, #truRomania va avea invitati si participanti din Statele Unite ale Americii si intreaga Europa cu scopul unor dezbateri aprinse. Intregul eveniment este in limba engleza.
Ok, sa fim mai precisi pentru a evita orice fel de confuzie.
Ce este #tru?
Evenimentele #tru sunt practic 'neconferinte' sau 'conferinte dezorganizate'. Probabil inca suna foarte ciudat, dar in mare accentul se pune pe conversatie, comunicare si schimbul de idei si experienta. Participantii sunt 'oameni care lucreaza cu oameni', si de cele mai multe ori sunt agenti de recrutare si plasare forta de munca, oameni de afaceri, specialisti in resurse umane, talent acquisition, programatori, specialisti in vanzari, experti in social media,pe scurt, oricine care are un interes in 'oameni'. Cat despre structura evenimentului, in fiecare ora se desfasoara trei track-uri. Fiecare track este inceput de un 'track leader' care are cunostinte si experienta cu privire la subiectul discutiei. Rolul 'track leader-ului' este sa dea startul conversatiei, dar dupa aceea va trebui sa lase totul sa se desfasoare in directia aleasa de participanti, acestia din urma fiind incontinuu incurajati sa treaca de la un track la altul dupa preferinte. Practic, daca nu iti place ceea ce se discuta la acea masa, te ridici si te muti la alta fara a jigni pe nimeni. Din nou, daca vrei sa participi la doua track-uri care au loc in acelasi timp, te poti imparti intre cele doua in aceeasi ora. Desi este o 'neconferinta', avem 4 reguli simple: 1. Fara prezentari in PowerPoint 2. Fara prezentari de orice fel 3. Fara ecusoane (doar faceti cunostinta) 4. Fara pitching In afara de acestea, se accepta orice! Orice participant, poate avea 'track-ul' lui fara pregatire in prealabil. Tot ce trebuie sa faceti este sa ne trimiteti un email sa va anuntati intentia, iar noi va programam si anuntam audienta. Nu uitati ca este o 'neconferinta', este evenimentul dumneavoastra, de aceea dumneavoastra sunteti cei care decideti ce vreti sa dicustati sau sa ascultati. In urmatoarele saptamani vom anunta 'track leader-ii' cu exactitate, dar deja putem sa va anuntam ca toti sunt cu atentie selectati din toate partile lumii. Se vor pune strict 80 de bilete la vazare, nici mai mult nici mai putin,aceasta pentru ca vrem sa ne asiguram ca ramanem loiali conceptului de 'neconferinta'. Thanks to our friends from Oracle Romania, the #tru carnival is coming to Eastern Europe for the first time. Over the last few years, Romania has been expanding as a recruiting center for the E.M.E.A. region, with a growing community in the "people" space. #truRomania is attracting track leaders from the US and throughout Europe to join in the conversation. This is going to be a really exciting event!
A #tru event is a pure unconference, where the emphasis is on conversation, communication and the free exchange of ideas and experiences. Participants come from the people space, usually made up of Recruiters, corporate and third-party, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Technology Developers and Vendors etc, anyone with an interest in people.
The format is to run a minimum of 3 tracks each hour. The tracks are started by a track leader who has some experience of the discussion topic. The role of the track leader is to start the conversation and let the conversation evolve wherever it goes. Participants are actively encouraged to move between tracks according to what they need individually. No one is offended and there is no need to stand on ceremony.
We have 4 simple rules:
1: No PowerPoint
2: No Presenting
3: No Name Badges (Just ask!)
4: No Pitching
Outside of that, anything goes!
Anyone attending can lead a track. There is no need for speaker applications or preparation. You have a track you want to start, let us know and we will find some space and announce it. E-mail us before the event and we will put it on the schedule. It is your unconference, and not for anyone to decide what you want to hear or talk about!
We will be announcing the track-leaders over the next few weeks, but already have contributors from around the globe. There will be strictly 80 tickets, no more, to ensure we can stick to the unconference principles.

I never wear a suit and I always wear a hat. I was the first person in the UK to register a business with @ in the name when I launched @BillBoorman in 2009. I’ve always worked in and around recruiting for the last 30 years or so. I think others would describe me as challenging the norm in most of what I do. I take a different approach to recruiting and networking. I have a great posse of connections who I can call on, and who can call on me. I used to have a real job as a Training and HR Director of a national recruitment business. I worked there for 12.5 years, before launching a traditional training business. When the recession came, I had no work and I discovered social media, the rest is history.
I’m Dad to 2 fantastic kids who inspire me in all I do. I can’t describe what I do as work, I’m having far too much fun for that. John Sumser has described me as explosive chaos, and China Gorman as the “King of Social Recruiting.” .I’m flattered.
I operate in 5 key areas:
> Integrating social recruiting for corporate companies, usually 5000 employees +
> Organising and hosting #Tru (The Recruiting Unconference), events around the world. We usually host an event somewhere in the world every 2 weeks. You can find the next events on the #tru dates section of this blog.
> Content production – I produce a range of content from blog posts to white papers for technology companies. I write weekly for Bullhorn Reach and Work4Labs on their blogs.
> Product consulting – I work with a range of companies advising on product and recruitment applications including Evenbase and JobPage.
> Key-note speaking – I speak on a host of recruiting, talent, technology and HR topics at events around the world, as well as acting as emcee. I have spoken in 12 countries and 4 continents. My SHRM presentation, Global HR, has been accredited for global credits.
